We happened upon Hal Burns Truck & Equipment service through Coach-net. While on the road, we had a problem with our AIrstream brakes. A mobile tech was sent out from Hal Burns. He diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts, had a couple hiccups and in a few days we were on our way. Our Airstream was still under warranty, so Tina in the office helped expedite payment with the manufacturer to get everything covered. Very knowledgeable mechanics, I would definitely recommend. Thank you.
These guys are awesome and got of out of jam when nobody else wanted to come out. Jacob was professional and fast! Highly recommend them to anyone looking for s good truck / tow service.
We were traveling in our RV which was new to us and having power issues. It is diesel and we heard they work on Sprinter engines.Called them from Albuquerque and they told us to come up. Glad we did! They found the problem quickly a cracked turbo charger hose and leaking fuel pump. They ordered the part from Albuquerque (haha, we could have brought if we knew!) so we waited for part and in few hours total we were on our way. They had a very friendly office staff and comfy waiting area. Dave & the crew were great!! Highly recommend!
The single greatest fear of the long-distance traveler is a mechanical failure that might leave you stranded in the deep wilderness or in an unfamiliar town. Being such a traveler, that constant fear has been relieved a bit by just knowing that if I happen to be in the Santa Fe, NM area, there is an HONEST, EFFICIENT and FRIENDLY mechanics shop that I can count on.A recent 5 day, 4700 mile, round-trip to MN from CA and back revealed this bit of relief. Carrying well over 5,000 lbs. of pet food, the diesel pick-up that I was using had been showing some problems since AZ. As I hit the first major grade on the I-25, just north of Albuquerque, a sudden loss of power indicated some trouble.I was just able to limp into the south Santa Fe area, and my wife did a quick search for a diesel mechanic in the area. Not knowing who to choose, I chose the first one. Excellent and very lucky choice!!My initial contact was with co-owner/general manager David Burns, who said that they could see the truck right away. I managed to 'crawl' in, and there was a person out to do a diagnostic within 5 minutes.I was in and out of there in less that 2 hours, thanks to the awesome staff, most especially the head mechanic, John Elder...what a awesomely efficient guy!!I now have Hal Burns Truck and Equipment on my speed dial, as I often have occasion to be in the area. Thanks so much!!
Very helpful and honest.
We came in from out of town and needed an emergency air hose replacement for our Sprinter van. They took us in right away with no wait time. It was a Monday morning too, typically a very busy time. The repair took 30 minutes and we were back on our way. Great, friendly service.
Dependable service, reasonably priced. Brought our RV in on a Tuesday morning for tune-up and oil change. Had it back Wednesday morning. David Burns, the general manager, was very pleasant to talk to and seemed to care about his customers.
Reliable, reasonably priced, excellent service. I went in with a faulty alternator which they replaced with an upgraded unit from stock. While there, I asked Jacob to check my coolant level. The coolant was the cruddiest I have ever seen and had a flush and had the coolant replaced. All this took only three hours and I was on my way. I highly recommend this shop.
I had a broken bracket holding in the extended range fuel tank on my Chevy Silverado with the tank hanging down about 6". The shop was obviously very busy on a Monday morning but they gave me immediate attention and less than 1 1/2 hrs later I was on the road again. The mechanic was extremely friendly, great service overall. This shop is highly recommended.
Driving down from Seattle..our motorhome started acting up near Santa Fe NM..my husband got worried so we called around and with hesitation (because I read the reviews) to Burns Hal...they where great and Found the problem and we even got to sleep in the motorhome in the shop they even gave us the keys 🙂 to the gate.Price was fair..considering that we just showed up.Also recommended a great place to eat
